Me in a minute means that you do several activities in a minute and you write down how many you did or how long. We are doing this so that we improve our fitness and our Heath.
My results are…
The activities that I’ve chose to work on is skips, train track jumps and ski squat. In skips, my goal is to concentrate and have my skipping in time. My goal for train tracks is to concentrate and don’t look down or I will loose my coordination with my feet, I will achieve this by concentrating. My goal for ski squat is to think of something else and do moves with my hands.
I bet that you wouldn’t like to be locked up in cage, for the rest of your life. Imagine that you scratched your nose, a lot people will be looking at you and you would get really embarrassed. You wouldn’t get any privacy.
Some animals can be caged in malls, like Ivan the silverback gorilla. Some animals could be in the same cages as other animals. When they leave, they may not ever see them again. I think that some animals should associate with other animals in the wild because they don’t have that chance in the zoo.
I think zoos should only rescue animals if they are injured, and then put them back in the wild because they would need to see their families again. Imagine if you rescued a baby cheetah, it would definitely need to go back to its family.
Once animals have been rescued from the wild, sometimes they never go back to the wild. Like Ivan the silverback gorilla, he was caged up in a mall for 27 years. And there is a video of Ivan going outside for the first time. He also picked a flower for the first time.
I think that you should be now convinced that zoos are not essential. If I’ve convinced your about this, would you rescue animals from the wild and put them back in the wild?
Today we played uno and I made a strategy and it was to get some skips and pick ups to win the game or make it go quicker.
here is a link on how we solved a maths problem.
Lou Richards was a famous Collingwood football player he was born on the 15th of march 1823 and died on the 8th of may at the Melbourne nursing home at the age of 94. He was a magpie great, who played 250 games. Lou Richards state funeral was today ( 17th may ) from 11am.

I wish that was got to meet Lou Richards before he died because he was my favourite AFL player in 1901-1960.
Today we finished our class novel and here is my predictions.
Here is my vocab page.
Here is my character page. At the end I was wondering what happened to the gold nugget.
This term we are reading to our prep grade and we are setting goals to improve on reading out loud. My goal is to sit on an angle so the preps can see the book and I need to concentrate instead of laughing while reading. This is the book I am reading.
This is a pre test and we haven’t been taught anything yet so I’m not sure if all my answers are right.

This week my grade and myself did a chellange which was to find out how many people would fit in our double rooms, standing up.
I was a partner with my friend Grace we started off with drawing a square metre. 12 people fit in each square metres.
In the 1 big room, the area was 64 so we added the the 2 big rooms so it = 128. Then we did the middle room/bag room which the area was 28. Next we did 128 + 28 =156. The last thing we did was 156 x 12 = 1,872.
The last couple weeks my grade and I were practicing our song for the New Gisboune Primary School concert. Our song is called “Who You Know”. Our song starts of like so some girls do bridges and the other half are crossing their arms.
This morning the grade 5’s performed a resilience song Titanium. It took a week to practice and make it perfect. In the dance I learnt that if u fall down you get back up.
On Thursday we did practicing for orienteering for next Thursday. I was in a group with Sophie, Lulu and myself. On map 4 it took 12:51 to mark every single number. On map 2 we took 5:51 to get through every marker. Map 4 was a bit harder then map 2 because some markers were put together and we didn’t know which one was the right one.
Yesterday NGPS had a footy colours day because the footy grand final. I wore a Collingwood football jersey and skins underneath my shorts. We also had an icy pole and had to bring in a $1-$2 donation. There were 5 people who wore Collingwood jerseys. There was 1 person who forgot to wear their Fremantle jersey.

This year the year 5s had a science expo. I did geodes. I had to explain how a geode forms with heat, water and gas. I chose this project because i was amazed how you can make crystals at home in an egg. Also because I can show a model of an egg crystal geode.
On Sunday it is FATHERS DAY. Today I made a acrostic poem for my dad. This event reminds me of the good times when we go to Echuca and camp at the Murray river.
Apart from our door I like the bully on the bus door because they have used scrap paper of the colours and have made the front cover, and very creative. I think this is a student quality work because the class has worked together to make the picture.
This week in P.E we were doing softball. In softball I learnt how to catch the real ball with a glove. Something I found hard was to catch the ball if you were on the base because people in my class were screaming at me, which means I lost my concentration.
On the 26th of July the grade 5’s went to the Bendigo discovery centre. It took 1 hour and 15 minutes to get there. When we first got there we had to eat our snacks for 20 minutes.
After that my class went to the vertical slide. I decided to go on it but aventurally I didn’t go on it because I am afraid of heights.
Then we went to the lab. In the lab my friend and I made an ice pack, then a lava lamp. After the lab we ate out lunch.
Police box time! In the police box was a planetarium dome. In the planetarium we had a look at what types of planets there are. And we had to look at the night sky that night.
We went to the discovery centre because we are going to have a science fair. This was how day went at the Bendigo discovery centre.
The Kelly Gang were a robbing and murderers. They were on the run for 2 years, they were also famous bush Rangers. The members of the Kelly Gang are Ned Kelly, Dan Kelly, James Kelly, Joe Byrne and Steve Hart.
In April 1878 that’s when the Kelly Gang formed and started murdering, robbing. They travelled around the world and took over small country towns.
Ned Kelly was born in 1854 on a farm on the side of big hill near Beveridge. Ned Kelly’s mother was Ellen Quinn Kelly who had 3 children with George King. And 9 with John Kelly.
John Kelly found Ellen Quinn Kelly and married her in 1850 in Melbourne, Victoria. Ellen Quinn Kelly sisters were Catherine (Quinn) Lioyd, Jane (Quinn) Loiyd.
John (Red) Kelly died in Avenel in 1866 the age of 46 years.
The Kelly Gang were famous because they were famous bush ranges and were on the run for 2 years. People were also frightened of them from the costoms they wore.
I’ve discovered a book called boy overboard. I’m predicting that these characters will immigrate because he wants to begin a new career with soccer in Australia. This book has to do with soccer because on the front cover it has a world soccer ball.
I’ve never read a Morris Gleitzman book before so I’m hoping this is gonna be a good one.
This Wednesday I played interschool sport and it is football. In our first game we played Holly Cross and the scores were 0-1, we won. In our second game we won, the scores were 0-12. Then we went to grand final, it was a tough game between New Gisborne and Gisborne primary, but in the end we lost by 24 points.
Here is an example of some persuasive writing. When I was writing these two persuasive text, I was trying to make the reader guilty.
Today my buddy’s and I made easter bunnies for easter this weekend. One of my buddy’s said that making the easter bunnies was fun. My other buddy was great at this activity, he was also very quick at it.
The strategies that I used in chess was to move a pawn to diagnal with the opponent so they can get my pawn so I can get their pawn. PAY BACK.
Wow! Second last day school today, nearly holidays. Today my class and I were looking at a school holidays activity site. Here is a link to the website.
Have a look at this website .
The one that chose were:
• Hermannsberg Poter For Kids
• Victoria museum
• AFL Holiday program.
The reason I chose Hermannsberg because I’m a sporty girl. The other one that I chose was Victoria museum because I’ve never been there and I wonder what sort of things are in there. The last one of the three is AFL Program because AFL is my favourite sport.
Have a look and see what you want.
What? Mind maps what’s next.
Well I do, now I have to create a mind map:
• Main branches have to be thick to thin,
• No long sentences, some little diagrams
• Branches neatly colour shaded.
Wow! I learnt a lot then I knew before. Click⬇️ Down below to have a look at my learning.
